Documents about the farm date back to 1769, when it was called Slavče's farm, as evidenced by church registers. This is the origin of the Slavček brand, which is represented by the bird symbol. Over the years, wines have been produced from one generation to the next and have been renowned for their high quality and appreciated throughout the world. Today's task is to emphasise the vineyard's location and the quality of what is produced through the wines.

Slavček means nightingale. This name for the farm located in Vipava valley was passed on from generation to generation of the Vodopivec family. And it’s a real family affair.

The vineyards are planted in areas where the natural microclimate makes it possible to grow grapes in an environmentally friendly way, taking into account and respecting biodynamic forces. There is a lot of manual and time-consuming work. The grapes are hand-picked and selectively harvested. The best Slavcek wines are vinified and matured in oak and own acacia wood barrels. We can thank the generations before us for keeping these trees on the land for 300 years.

The wine is produced according to the traditional process. Fermentation always starts with the grapes, and for a shorter period also for white and fruity wines. This technological process strongly emphasises the unique growing site of the vineyard. This gives the wines richer colour nuances and flavours. The aim is to bring out the characteristic varietal bloom of each grape variety in the wine. Only a small amount of sulphur is added to the wine before bottling. No other preservatives are ever used. The wines are therefore completely natural.
